BOTOX® Cosmetic
As we age, the effects of stress and exhaustion on the aesthetic of the face can make us appear older than we really are – specifically with the appearance of heavy frown lines in the brow and along the forehead. BOTOX® Cosmetic works to address this.
The most popular non-surgical aesthetic enhancement procedure in the U.S., BOTOX® Cosmetic is designed to provide temporary relaxation to facial muscles that are contracting – ultimately leading to the formation of wrinkles and creases. Using an ultra-fine needle, Dr. Richards will inject BOTOX® Cosmetic into the areas targeted for treatment. The entire procedure typically only takes about five minutes or less, and can be done over your lunch hour.
Although there have been cases of serious side effects from treatments with BOTOX® Cosmetic, these instances are very rare, and you are likely to experience only slight swelling and/or redness in the treatment areas for a short period of time – if you experience any side effects at all. The results of BOTOX® Cosmetic are apparent within a few days, and the effects can last up to four months. You can even keep the effects of BOTOX® Cosmetic going longer with occasional touch-up treatments.

Restylane®
Restylane® is a dermal filler that works to plump up the skin and smooth out lines and wrinkles. It is extremely effective at reducing the appearance of nasolabial folds (the area between the nose and mouth), as well as adding volume and new contours to the lips.
Composed of hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally produced by the human body, Restylane® treatment does not require an allergy test. Restylane® is injected with a very fine needle into the areas of the face that have been targeted for treatment. The entire procedure typically takes about 15-30 minutes or less, and most patients can directly resume normal daily routines right after treatment.
The rejuvenating and volume-adding effects of Restylane® usually last around 4-6 months, in many cases longer. However, each individual patient is different and there is no guarantee as to how long results will last. Once the effects of Restylane® have worn off, results can be maintained with follow-up treatments. Restylane® has been shown to actually stimulate the body’s own collagen formation, which help to make results last longer.
Sculptra® Aesthetic
Sculptra® Aesthetic is an innovative treatment option designed to add volume to hollowed areas of the face, as well as reduce the appearance of wrinkles and correct facial contour deficiencies. One of the chief advantages of Sculptra® Aesthetic is the length of its results – more than two years in many cases. Like other cosmetic injectables, Sculptra® Aesthetic is injected into the targeted regions of the face with an ultra-fine needle. Dr. Richards has been specifically trained in Sculptra® Aesthetic injections and is proficient with helping people restore lost collagen and deep soft tissue. The best results from Sculptra® Aesthetic usually come with a treatment regimen of about three sessions over a five-month period.
